A peculiar situation

Blog featured image

The world is in the grips of a pandemic and we wish all to be safe and healthy. Our thoughts are with all those on the frontline, the key workers in the emergency and health services and all those involved in keeping the UK in food and essentail supplies. These are unchartered waters, nobody really knows how long we will be asked to self isolate or practice social distancing but at the moment we should heed the advice from the gorvernment and the WHO.

As composers and producers of music we are quite used to the idea of working in isolation and spending many hours in our studios making music. So the supply of quality royalty free music will not be interrupted, indeed it will increase. We do feel for the many gigging musicians whose livelihoods are threatened as the gig scene vanishes. However we marvel at the creativity of the music community as they turn to performing online via Zoom or Facebook Live, broadcasting music or offering instrument tuition over the internet. You can't beat performing to a live audience sat or standing a few feet from you but these are unprecedented times calling for new and innovative ways to get your music heard. Creative people have the skillset to produce novel and exciting ways to reach their audiences.

Via the internet we are now creating music by linking up with our media composers, who do not have to leave their studio to perform their music for us. We can create a drum backtrack in our studio and then ask one of our composers in another studio in anothe part of the world to add their guitar solo or violin section. Their part is emailed as a .wav file to our main studio and we slowly construct the track, mix and produce and it's ready to roll. No germs are spread, we stay safe and the music plays on. We know you cannot beat the social interaction of a group of composers/musicians bantering (and possibly drinking, mainly tea of course) bouncing off ideas, and this will return but for now, for the best interests of society, we must adjust to a different working method and ensure our wellbeing and to continue the music making.

We know a lot of our customers are self employed/ freelancers in the creative world, making corporate video or tv productions and this will be a testing time, with productions on hold. However online streaming projects will still happen and will increase. So there will still be a demand for our quality and reasonably priced royalty free music. Rest assured we will be here to provide our normal high standard of service. More and more customers are now buying royalty free music downloads as you receive the music in an instant.

In the world of business, the government's advice for people to avoid all cafes. restaurants, bars and to generally stay at home will have a huge impact on their business. Fewer customers, will mean fewer sales.

So maybe this is the perfect time to look into our NON PRS PPL music which allows you to play quality background music in your business at a fraction of the price currently charged by PRS and PPL. Cut your costs and overheads and yet still be able to play qaulity copyright free music in your premises.

So stay safe everyone and enjoy the time to be creative and to work on those projects you may have cast aside due to time restrictions in you normal life. This will be a weird time, but it can also be an enriching time to explore those creative urges and ideas you've been harbouring in your mind.

As we have seen from the balconies in Italy and other parts of the world, you cannot stop the music, let's make sure this continues. We wish to assure you that for us it's business as normal and we are committed to providing you a service second to none.

Be safe, be creative
